Daydreams

As I lay in my bed at night, I would look up above;
Close my eyes and whisper out of love…

I’ll open my eyes and own a tree in Japan,
Cherry Blossom leaves would fall, and I’ll catch them on my hand.
One blink and I’m meters away from the Eye of London,
as the palace bands march, I’m singing with all my emotions.
At the count of three, I’m at the busy streets of New York,
Strolling around FRIEND’s highly visited Central Perk.
A moment later, I’m smelling Netherlands’ tulips,
Van Gogh’s artworks, bulb fields, windmills, and lots of cheese.
As I turn my head, I saw Song Joong Ki,
along with the other South Korean actors, they were waving at me.
Then a flash of light and I am wandering around Paris,
the sparkle of the Eiffel Tower with hopes of true love’s kiss.

But as I close my eyes again, a tear fell down my ear;
Because these countries are just what ifs and I’ll never come near.
Who knows? One day, I might be able to finish  my story,
And these daydreams would someday turn into my reality.

The Artist

You drew the ocean,
but what I asked
was the calmness of your heart.

You drew the forest,
|but what I wanted
was an adventure right from the start.

You drew a fire,
but what I looked for
was the heat of your flame.

You drew the stars,
but what I long for
was the spark in your eyes.

You keep on drawing,
Mixing colors and hues.
Yet I never asked for them.
What I wanted was you.

A Poem for Ms. Writer

Greetings, Ms. Writer, it has been a while.
The last time I saw you, there was no hint of smile.
Unlike the old days when you still hold a paper and a pen,
I wonder when you will ever write again.

Remember when you used to get bullied in elementary?
To whom did you cry to? Nothing but your diary.
You often get scolded by your parents and teachers;
Who listens to your rants? It’s the blog where you enter.

You’ll never forget the name of your crush in high school,
Because your poems for him are hidden in your room.
That tiny misunderstanding you had with your friend,
The letters you sent her, so your friendship won’t end.

And remember when you had your first heartbreak?
So many unsent letters, hoping life is a piece of cake.
Your only wish is for the pain to end;
But that moment, your dearest friend, writing, is forgotten.

Yet I am here to remind you that you’ll get over it.
When life gives you battles, it means you’re not weak.
I am here to remind you that I’m still willing to listen,
Every climax, every drama, I would still keep them.

I know your entire story, from beginning up to now.
I’m with you from highs and lows, through your ups and downs.
Ms. Writer, my owner, please write another entry.
Hoping you still remember me, your dearest diary.
