Taipei Gears Up for Yoruba Day
The Association of Yoruba in Taiwan is finalizing plans for the grand Yoruba Day celebration, set for December 7, 2024. This event will highlight the vibrant cultural heritage of the Yoruba people through music, dance, art, and exquisite cuisine. "This inaugural Yoruba Day promises to be a remarkable celebration of unity and culture," the association stated. Acting Chairman Rotimi Onifade announced that he will conduct a series of courtesy visits to other ethnic organizations across Taiwan, aiming to foster broad participation and engagement in the festivities. "This will be the first time Yoruba culture is in the spotlight in Taiwan, and it will be an annual tradition from now on," he added confidently. With the theme “YORUBA IN TAIWAN,” the event is designed to celebrate and share Yoruba culture as a representation of Africa in Taiwan.
The inaugural Yoruba Day will be held on December 7, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Code Space, No. 28, Section 3, Nanjing E Rd, Zhongshan District, Taipei City, 10491.

Theater BLiM
Samjoko Magazine is partnered with Theater BLiM of Taipei. Founded by Ghanniy Oyedele in 2020, BLiM produces plays based on African religion, philosophy, and current events.
Their first performance night happened Christas Eve 2022. Their next production is scheduled to happen summer 2023.
